Formerly well trained dog pooping at night in the house.

Hi Kristin,

Curious if you're familiar with non medical causes as to why my dog has developed the night poops in the house.  Historically, if she had to go (which was rare), she would wake us.

We have recently changed her dog food and wonder if that can trigger some unusual routine shifts.

It is possible a change in diet would change bathroom habits. Something you might have to do for a while would be to crate the dog at night,as they will generally hold it in if they are crated,but if they don't it's at least contained. Do that for about three weeks,then if accident reoccur back in the crate the dog goes for another ten days
