Question
QUESTION: I have a 3 1/2 lb toy poodle.  is she supposed to be muzzled while the groomer grooms her?  and is this very tramatic to the dog, she can get fiesty and growls alot at times.

ANSWER: Why is she being muzzled? Did she bite the groomer? How old is your dog? How long has this person been grooming?  Are you there while she is being groomed? Where is she being groomed. What kind of muzzle?
You didn't give me much to go on here so I can only assume she is a biter or the groomer has no patience.
Groomers work with their hands so if your dog bites then yes she needs to be muzzled for the groomers protection but she should be able to learn not to.

QUESTION: I am assuming because she can snap and growl when I touch her at times, i don't know if she bit the groomer but i heard from another source that she gets real growl and snappy, i heard this from the groomers daughter who told my daughter  my dog is 9 months old, don't know how long she has been grooming  she has her own shop and a lot of clientele, no I drop her off and pick her up  don't know what kind of muzzle  how can i train her not to growl and get snappy when I pet her at times.

Answer
Hi Cindy
you have a little Napoleon. The smaller they are the bigger the noise. She is still trying to assert herself.
I am a groomer not a behaviorist- which is what you need. I have been through this a few times myself and it usually is the owners problem. You need to make it very clear that kind of behavior is unacceptable. The groomer will probably get he through this phase and she should be ok but you need to do some obedience training with her. Do it soon before she takes over your life. It's cute when they are puppies but looses the charm as they get older
good luck
