Feeding a Bischon

Question
I read your information about the wool/fur in cross mix dogs. We have recently bought an adorable 8 week old Poodle/Bischon and have no problems as yet. She is already adored by the family as well as our two adult poodles and follows the poodles outside for toileting already. I heard from a friend that Bischons should not eat beef? Is that correct? We have had dogs of all kinds all of our lives and have never heard of a dog that can't eat beef.
She is only on puppy food right now and with our poodles we feed them on dry food, chicken and steak as well as vegetables and they have never been sick.
I would appreciate finding out if there are any troubles with Bischons and eating beef.
Regards
Sandra from Sydney Australia

Answer
g'day mate!
Technically this is not a grooming problem, although you are what you eat - so they say and coat is a direct result of food intake as well.
The coat of your new pup should hardly be any dif from the other dogs maybe a bit silkier at most. You'll treat it the same.
As far as what you are asking? Sounds like one of  those myths to me. If you want to do some real research on the food issue, you have one of the top world wide experts right there in Oz! Dr. Billinghurst. The B.A.R.F. diets- Biologically, Appropriate, Raw, Foods-sounds weird but this guy knows his stuff and there are massive amounts of info on the net about him.
Friends mean well but the key to all things is moderation. A diet of strictly beef is no good for any animal- they all need proper nutrition and a balanced diet.
