dog bath

Question
We have a 7 week old mixed shitzu (75%) and chihuaha (25%). How soon can we bath him and with what can we bath him with? Dawn soap? Once we start bathing how often should we bath him? Any suggestions of bathing methods?

Answer
Bathing and grooming are 2 different things.
A bath at home can be done anytime- at a salon not until the last set of shots.
Your mix is amusing- sounds like a sneeze! - however the shitzu is a high maintenance dog because of the never ending hair growth cycle and the necessity to either keep it short in a puppy cut or daily brushing and combing is absolutely necessary. Dawn is not for puppies but greasy, over worked coats.
