Pomeranian Shedding

I have a female Pomeranian and she is 4 years old and I want to know if it is common for her to be shedding her coat in the middle of winter. I am worried that she is lacking something in her diet. Thank You.

When you say shed is she dropping clumps of hair or is this just when you brush her? If it is the latter, this is normal, but if you are finding large clumps you should discuss this with your Vet because there are some simple things that can cause this such as hypo-thyroid. Diet should also be looked at.
Poms do shed year round which is why they need regular grooming.
