Maltese Shih Tzus pooing herself

Our dog is 12 years old and is now constantly pooing and its getting all over her hair.  She doesn't like to be washed so $200.00 for a groom at the vet because she needs to be sedated.

I don't understand why she is doing this because we feed her good quality food.

I am thinking age is the factor.

Hi AJ,  I think your are right about age.  You may want to bring a stool sample by the Vet to check for a number of parasites.  ( Many are NOT seen with the human eye)
Could just be a parasite in the intestines.  Need special meds for a harsh parasite.

I wonder if you can give Valerian and a few hours later try a Sponge bath ....
