WEAKER HIND LEGS

Question
QUESTION: MY 9 WEEK OLD MALE MALTESE SEEMS TO WADDLE ON HIS HIND LEGS, AS IF THEY ARE NOT AS DEVELOPED AS THE FRONT LEGS. IS THAT NORMAL AT THIS AGE?

ANSWER: Jane, sounds normal but next vet visit take up this observation with the vet.  What are you feeding this little one?

QUESTION: cesars puppy chicken & beef.......iams dry ( he doest touch this) strained chicken baby food he eats some of this off my finger......pedigree puppy wet ( he doesnt like this )  in the a m he has played hardy and then all of a sudden is crawling on his belly i assume this is low blood sugar episode? i have given him calf liver boiled and mushed the las two days with baby strained veg and rice and he loves it and since that diet he has not done this crawling thing these last two mornings....is it o k to give him this homemade liver food....so many days a week .......... should i limit it to so many times a week? it has really improved his appetite he is eating so much better when i give this to him..........what do you think and what do you think of that crawling.... i would crate him when he did that and he would take a rest and than be back to normal.........is this a playful act or low blood sugar or something else........he also gets two dots of nutrical a day in the a.m.  thanks jane

Hi: hard to tell about the legs - only the vet can tell for sure upon manipulation.  As for the food, all sounds good - liver is fine 2-3 x per week or 4-5 VERY small meals per week.
How about some home made dog food / just do some hamburger (
cooked ) and add a few sweet peas or even a few green beans?
The peas and green beans can be canned - just rinse off the salt.

Make sure he is getting 4 small meals per day right now - or even 5...
AFTER 13 weeks he can go to 3-4 meals per day ....
Keep him on 3 meals per day until he is 7 months old... OK?????
