Question
I have a 4 year old (6 pound) Maltese who I had crate-trained and then trained to use a potty pan with pads in the guest bathroom.  He did well until about 4-5 months ago.  He would sometimes miss and go on the bathroom floor before, but now, he is peeing in the entrance hallway to the bathroom and/or on the bathroom floor most of the time even though he has a clean pad.  I had hardwood floors installed about 2 months ago (not in the bathroom), and he is peeing on the hardwood floor outside the bathroom door and hallway.  I clean up immediately and take him into the bathroom, put him in the pan and tell him "good puppy, pee-pee in the pan."   When we actually catch him using his pan, we praise him and give him treats.  We are away from home about 10-11 hours each day (working) and sometimes he uses the pan, but most of the time lately, he's using the hallway.  Please help... what can I do to retrain him to use his pee pan ???   Thanks lots !!!
