Q1:  I will be travelling from the US to Italy with my 1 year old Maltese.  We found an airline that will let us take him on board.  We are going to be gone for 4 months, so leaving him was not an option.  He is an awsome but stubborn lil guy.  I think he'll tolerate the flight.  Vet thinks he'll be stressed, but he'll be more stress with out me for 4 months.  My baby barks at everything.  We do not want to get kicked off the plane.  The vet want to sedate our baby, just a little.  I was also thinking of trying a bark collar to help train him quickly (2 weeks till we leave).  We are trying the "sonic" dog bark collar first.  Do you have any tips to help him control his barking?  We want him to bark, just not at everything.  
Q2: My baby itches near his nose and eyes like crazy.  I have him on the best foods, Canidae, Wellness, ect.  I use organic/natural dog shampoo.  And a conditioning spray ( which may not be so natural).  There is no wheat in his diet.  Are there any suggestions for what I can do to help him.  He seems to make his eyes so red I am afraid they will bleed.  We love our lil guy so much and want him to have the best doggie life possible.  I appreciate your advise.  Thank You-Col

Hello Coloni and little Maltese - Yes, I agree with the vet - a slight sedation will be helpful for the plane.  As for the bark collar, you can't get him adjusted that quick.  
A slight sedation won't hurt at all.  
When you are in Italy you will have more time to work with the bark collar.
