Question

kiaras pics
i have a cute very sweet Maltese named banjo and he so nice. we walk him over and over and over... i walk him in the morning at 6:50 7:00 and my parents walk him at lunch for me when I'm at school and i walk him when i come at at 3:00 and then i walk him at 7:00 at night and he has separation problems he doesn't get it we tell him no we put his nose in the pee. but when i get home i ask him... were you a bad boy and if he was he would get under the chair and sit there and if he was a good boy he would jump and bark on me. but every time i walk him he freaks out at this one dog on the porch and he goes crazy! when i leave to go to school is jumps and wines and goes crazy when we leave. we got him checked and the said he has separation problems. he fine on the weekends when we are home but not on the week days. the people that had him first would just let him pee and poop all in the house and kept him a crate all day and he is 3 years old... my parents are so tired of picking up after him. he has some good days and some bad days but he usually pee and poops in the house when we are gone. my mom and dad don't want to get another dog to keep him company and i want a dog that is potty trained or is a puppy that is trained. can you please tell me what is the problem. is it some Maltese that are like this or is it the boys? i love my baby boy and don't want to let him go back to the SPCA again and go over this same stuff again please tell me why
                      thanks,

Answer
Hi Kiara,  when you are not home he needs to be in a large crate or in the bathroom with a baby gate.  He can't have Run of the house .... He has not earned it yet.
Please start giving him a small space like the bathroom or even laundry room.
Play a radio, when he is alone.....

You do walk him a good amount of times.  He just needs to be re-trained for the potty.
If you take him out and he doesn't potty, then he goes in the crate or gated bathroom.
After 1 hr you take him out Again, to go potty outside.

When he has an accident in the house - put him in the crate for a time out.  (just 10 -15 minutes or so)
Also, have your parents take you to the book store.  Get some books on training dogs for the basics.... YOU need to read and it will help your parents, too.

BEST of luck
