Potty mistakes

I have a two year old Maltese and she was a sickly puppy therefore she was not fully potty trained until she was about a year old.  Once fully potty trained she was great for about a year with NO mistakes, within the last two months she as been making mistakes, in area were she hangs out as well.  I have never crated her and would like to avoid it if possible (a guilt thing) is there any way that we can repotty train her and perhaps an answer as to why she is making the mistakes.  She has been trained to go on potty pads in a closet same place as always and shows no signs of being sick.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Suzy, I would still have her checked by the vet for a slight UTI...Urinary tract infection.
Sounds odd to me.
Make sure it is not medical first.  Also, they can get crystal stones in the bladder....OK
