Question
I have a male Maltese 18 months old I clean the matting out of the corner of his eyes every two or three days. I have just used  wet wash cloth, with just water on them. It leaves a brown looking stain on his hair around the corner of his eyes. I want to know if there is a safe solution i can use to clean these stains and crust from his eyes. Or could this be a medical concern that i need to se a vet about.thanks Don Williams

Answer
Hi Don - To get rid of the eye stains you need a grain free or LOW grain food and some NuVET supplements.  Many times the stains are related to yeast bacteria and allergies.
Here is my plan for you and your Maltese...

1.  Look for a new food :  innova Evo; Wellness Core or Merrick Befoe grain are wonderful foods.
Mix the old food and the new food for 10 days.  If he is Already on Grain-free Wonderful.

2.  Please give him 1/2 of a cup of Activia Yogurt daily for 3 weeks.
MUST be Activia Brand - will help get rid of excessive yeast in the skin and under the eyes.
Plain or any flavor is fine for short term usage.

3.  NuVET Plus - please give this boy 1 NuVET wafer per day- Will take away the yeast stains in about 1 month or less.  The groomer will need to cut away the old stains.  You should NOT see any new stains on your Maltese baby:
Call NuVET -  they give you a 60 day money back guaranteed trial when you call in.
Tell them Pet Nurse Marie sent you from AllExperts
here is my private NuVET site with some of my clients:

NuVET will cost you about .65 CENTS per day :
Helps the hips, legs, joints, skin, all the body systems....

4.  Wipe the eye area every day with some N.S. -(normal saline eye wash) and a unscented baby wipe.
