My Maltese runs in circles

Question
We have a 3 1/2 year old beautiful Maltese. She is so sweet and truly is our "baby"! She does this very funny thing where she all of a sudden starts to run in a very systematic way all around the furniture. If I am standing still she will include circling me in her run. It is a very funny thing, but we were wondering if this meant anything?

Lol my little boy does this too, and i used to have a Jack russel that did it also.
Lol its a way for them to release energy but they love it lol! its like you will just be doing normal things and suddenly they will be bounding around the room its so odd though hes so presice when he runs he never knocks anything over !! although all my cushions are all over the room lol.

DONT WORRY ITS ER "NORMAL"?
