Adopting a Maltese

I want to purchase/adopt a Maltese puppy.  But before I do, I want to know as much as I can about this breed.  I have read all of the questions and answers on this site about the Maltese.  And I have tried doing a search on training a Maltese.  I found plenty of information on training a shih tzu, but very little on the Maltese.  Will the house training for both puppies be basically the same? If not can you point me in the right direction.  

I found a person that will let me choose a puppy and visit him/her a few times before I bring it home.  That way the puppy won't be coming to a strange house with a strange person.

hi there, what a good breeder and that is a good start on your part getting the puppy used to you before he comes to your house.
Firstly how old will the pup be when he comes home.
There are different techniques to house training will the breeder be enforcing any of these before you pick him up?
I had a brilliant breeder she chose the puppy pad option and my puppy at 8 weeks was trained to go to the toilet on the pads however its the transferring the behaviour from the pads to outside thats the trick but of course all the advice i can give is availible to you
