Question
My adopted Maltese, Carley, is 12 years old and about 4 months ago started itching and scratching.  She has now lost the hair on her ears, her tail is balding and the hair on her face seems to be thinning.  Any blood work that has been done shows nothing, there is nothing visible to see that could be a cause.

I have changed her food to EVO, salmon/fish formula.

I am currently giving her beneidryl 3 times a day, that seems to help some but of course is only a band-aid solution.

Answer
Maltese fur/hair loss;  maltese supplements ;

Debi - oh, poor little Carley!  Glad you did see your vet for blood work!
The Evo was a good choice.... It must be something environmental???
There can be so many things that can hit related to environmental allergens.

Here are some Supplements to help you get her Off the Benadryl.

1.  ESTER C - give 250 mg ( break this in 1/2) - give 1/2 per day - hide in some food.
( So , you will give just 125 mg per day of Ester C)))))

2.  Vitamin E - give her (1) of a 100 I.U. EVERY "OTHER" DAY  - long term...
It will be hard to find vitamin E in this small of a dosage - your pharmacy can order it for you if they don't carry it.

3.  PLEASE call the NuVET gals and get this kid onto the NuVET Plus - Allergy blaster and skin and coat supplement - give her 1 full wafer treat per day or 1 full teaspoon per day.
NUVET comes in a powder or wafer/  the prices are 20.00 or 39.00 for a bottle ( DEPENDS on the size of the bottle)
YOU will see results in about 30 days with NuVET - They guarantee it with a 60 day money back guarantee...
CAll in for this guaranteed trial offer - Tell them PET Nurse Marie is working with you.
USE order code 81098**
1-800-474-7044

YOU may also want the TEA tree hot spot spray - from NuVET - less than 10.00 per bottle - spray on any itchy areas that are NOT open sores....
Takes away the itch and is very healing, too.

I sure hope this helps!!  I have had great luck with my Maltese clients at the clinic.

Keep me posted
