worried about my husky

Question
I am trying to research solutions for my 1 year old husky with diarrhea issues.  I have read about the raw foods diet, but I'm afraid I don't have the money or time to commit to it, so I'm hoping you can advise me about commercial foods.  When the diarrhea first started we changed her food to Beneful, as suggested by a friend, and it worked well at keeping her stools firm.  Then I heard that "grocery brand" dog foods lack balanced nutrition and dogs should really be on "premium" foods.  So I switched her to Nutro High Energy, and now three months later the diarrhea is back.  She was fine during the intitial transition, but has had chronic diarrhea for the past two weeks.  She is also extremely gaunt looking to the point where her ribs and hip bones stick out.  I just took her to the vet for all of this and all he could tell me was to switch her back to beneful and that her weight has remained the same since he last saw her three months ago and I shouldn't worry.  So is Beneful the answer or should I try something else?  Are there any moderate cost supplements I can try?

Answer
Beneful might be the best bet, but here is one other idea that won't break the bank and I've heard has been very succesful.  In fact, my dogs use it because their entire kennel line has had similar problems.

Supplement the dog's diet with a tablespoon of raw meat per day.  The concentrated protein is helpful and many times it firms stools up.  Try that and see how it goes.  It's basically introducing elements of the raw diet without needing to spend the time or money.
