Husky/Lab Sitting On Owner

20 9:12:31

Question
Since I got my husky/lab mix as a puppy, she has always liked to sit on my chest or neck when I am laying down and/or playing.  Sometimes she literally 'throws' her bottom half onto me!  It is funny but I am curious if this is a statement of ownership?  An odd quirk of her or part of her breed?  We have two dogs, but she did this before we got the second one.  Thank you.

Answer
Might be - it's tough to say without seeing the rest of the behavior.  Any position over top of another dog or owner is usually a sign of dominance, but dogs often use this to help encourage play too.  Additionally, the dog may just like the warmth and comfort. . .
