Training not to drag me down the street

Question
I have two 8 month old female huskies...Yikes what was I thinking.
I have a fenced in yard and had been walking them until I broke my foot, now
I can't get them to stop dragging me down the street. I guess when I couldn't
take them out they forgot their manners.  But they love to go for a walk so
much that   I don't want to give up.
They are sisters with  two entirely different personalities, and sort of take
turns being the Alpha.  Shouldn't they have worked that out by now?
All in all I adore them and pay far too much attention to them or so I've been
told. I never leave them for longer than 2 hours unless absolutely necessary.
How long is too long?  I've asked my vet but I can tell She's not interested too
much or as informed as I'd like too be so I can keep them safe and happy.
Thanks,  sorry for the zillion questions

Answer
You don't pay to much attention to them. Siberians should be left alone as little as possible. They start killing stuff in the house if left alone to long. I never leave mine for more then an hour alone. But that is just what my comfort level.

As far as Alpha goes, they will always take turns. They do not establish a solid pack hierarchy until you have 5 dogs. But I wouldn't suggest that unless you have 1 to 3 more people in the house to give the dogs plenty of attention and help you walk them.

2 suggestions to not be pulled. Walk one dog at a time until you have them each trained nicely to heel. Taking them to a puppy obedience class will help you out nicely since they can give you hands on training.
The second one is get a Halti or a gentle leader. I will let you know the dogs will have to get used to them before you take them out for a walk. The instructions to get them used to these devices are on the packaging. I use one for various things it is always to correct a bad behavior (It can even be used on aggressive of excitable dogs to redirect their attention all you have to do is turn their head away and offer them a treat in a different direction (warning: there is more to retraining an aggressive dog!)). The Halti gives you compleat control over the dogs head. The cannot physically pull you if you use this product. It is how they control horses and other larger animals that we obviously cannot physically restrain.
If you have more questions or need something clarified please ask!
