husky and existing cats

Question
We just recently adopted a 2 year old husky and we have 2 1year old cats. The dog appears to want to eat the cats.  She actually caught one today and was shaking it like a rag doll. The cats are weary but have always gotten along with our 8 year old golden retriever.  Can this be resolved or did we make a bad decision. The husky is great otherwise.

A husky has a very strong prey drive, genetically they are only .01% different then a wolf. This can be solved to a point with a professional trainer that comes to your house. A husky ether gets along with cats or they don't and they won't. Even after you get help from a trainer NEVER leave the dog unsupervised with the cats. Even if they have been doing great for 5 years, nothing has ever happened. One day they just decide to kill the cat.
