Serious concern for pets health

Question
Our 12 year old female siberian husky is not eating and has been vomiting. We had her at our local vets for several days over the past 2 weeks. They did a barium study; extensive blood work and did a mild sedative to check her teeth and throat. She only ate some baby food for them, but, they gave her anti-vomit medicine so she did not vomit. They gave us the anti-vomiting medicine and prednesone, which we have difficulty giving her medicine because she won't eat. We were able to get her to eat an egg with milk, will this be enough for her to live on? She is also showing signs of being scared, even with us. We are not sure, but, is it possible she may of been poisoned? We are at our wits end.Do you have any suggestions for us or anything we should be asking our local vet? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Answer
Dear Liz,
Your situation sounds dire indeed, my first plan of action would be to definately seek another vet's opinion. Your vet should have been able to quickly find the problem, the fact they have not raises serious questions about their worthiness. I would be rushing her to another vet immediately. Milk and eggs are good, but you are right they won't sustain her forever, get some glucose and put it in her water as well it will give her extra energy. Keep giving her the baby food too. The fact she is suddenly scared of you is not a good sign either, I would brace myself for something serious. I once knew of a dog who suddenly acted this way and he was diagnosed a very aggressive tumour. I am sorry I can not help you on this more, just get a second opinion quickly.
Good Luck Faye and Husky Crew.
