Question
I have a husky puppy, Maddison wo is a fantastic loveable dog. She seems very happy as part of her family but I would like to get her another dog friend. Is this advisable? if so should I wait til she is older or get one now while she is still a puppy?

Answer
Having an additional dog around a Siberian is a great idea.  Generally, any breed that also likes other dogs is a good choice, and of course, another Siberian is automatically a good call.  As for age, my suggestion is only this - wait until your dog is adequately trained.  Once you are no longer worried about house training issues, and the dog has basic obedience work down, you are usually well prepared to get another dog.  My first dog I got when she was 8 weeks old, four months later, when she was 6 months old, I got another Siberian who was 8 weeks old.  They are just four months apart, and I had very few issues with the integration.  As for waiting longer, Siberians are pack animals and thrive with multiple interactions - canine and human alike.  As long as the dog is being exposed frequently to other dogs and getting canine-on-canine play time, you really don't have to worry about waiting too long to get another dog.  On the other hand, if the dog is not getting canine attention, any time after the first year or two becomes tenuous at best.

Hope that helps some, and feel free to write back with any other questions or concerns.
