Is it possible for a pure bred Siberian Husky to produce pure Siberian Huskies after mating with an none pure bred dog? My daughter left my pure Siberian Husky who's in heat tied up where she was mounted by a Chocolate Lab, now if she is pregnant and delivers does she she qualify to produce pure bred Siberians in the future?? Of course if she is pregnant now from this Chocolate Lab I know there is no chance of these puppies being pure. I was planning on breeding her when she was two years old with a pure bred Siberian Husky, is it at all possible to for those puppies to still be pure?? Very frustrated mom and Siberian Husky owner :(

Answer
Sperm only lives inside the female for 7 days, at the next breeding she will be fine. But keep in mind that dogs can breed with more then one male and have babies from more then one each heat cycle, so keep her away from other males when she is in heat. I would invest in a kennel or fence.

Also make sure to get her CERF, eye test and OFA her hips tested. Before you breed her. IF she has hip dyspepsia or cataracts you might not want to breed her.

Any more questions please ask.
