Adult Husky and new pup

Question
I have a 5 yr old husky and we recently adopted a new 3 month old puppy. We tried to introduce the pup to the husky and he was almost nipped. After that we have kept him a distance away but we would like to know if there is any way they can be introduced so they can gradually get along. Would introducing them away from the property work? Our husky has always received our affection and love but he can be territorial.

Answer
Supervised interactions in a neutral setting are very helpful in these cases, as well as introducing scents before the actual meetings.  The big thing is don't rush anything - take your time and work slowly and you'll often be rewarded with two dogs who get along well.
