Is A Husky Right For Me?

Question
Ok so I've been wanting another dog for quite some time now and i was looking at different breeds and fell in love with the husky.  But I have some concerns, first I live in Phoenix Arizona, will the heat be a problem? Can i not leave them outside for too long? I currently own a Lab/golden retriever and I have taught her to not leave the driveway when I take her out front and if we go camping she never gets more than 50 feet from me when not on a leash,or any other time for that matter is it possible to train a husky to do the same? I'm willing to take the dog for a walk about 4 or 5 days a week and groom it weekly too. Also I work and go to school, I'll have time for the dog between them and after and my other dog can keep it company.  Basically what I'm saying is that I really want a Siberian husky, I love their beauty, independence, companionship, and intelligence but is it really the best choice for me right now or should I wait or find another breed of dog?

Answer
A Siberians coat protects them from the heat and the sun just like it does the cold. You will just have to keep plenty of water for them to keep cool with. A kiddy pool in the lawn is a plus.
As far as the leash goes. They need it, a husky will run. They take off at a tremendous pace and keep going as far as they can. They where bred to do this. Putting up an inviable fencing can help you though, make sure the one you get will work on a stubborn dog.
I know you didn't ask this but a lab/retriever is a perfect companion dog for a husky, sometimes it helps to curve the naughty streak in them. You will have to compromise with by keeping the husky on lead (get him a back pack and help you carry your camping gear) and keep your lawn secure, but it sounds like you are good to go otherwise.
