Question
hi Michelle.
I am in a bit of a delema with my husky. I have been living in France and my girlfriend gave me a husky for my birthday.
i have had to leave the country to go work abroad so i left my husky in the capable hands of friends over there. They are looking after my dog till i can find some proper accomodation for him.
My question or question's are: Will my husky travel well by plane and will he be able to adapt to living in an apartment as he is currently living outside.
I need advice to help me make my decision to bring him over or give him away as my friends cannot look after him for ever.

Answer
Huskies are very adaptable. I have a pup that grew up in a high rise apartment building. She is litter box trained, and towel trained (for when they run out of litter). You will have to potty train the dog. But he should be fine. I also suggest crate training. In the process of getting him trained you can find a doggy day care who will let him stay there while you are at work (unless you work from home then that shouldn't be a problem ether). Since he is moving from outside to inside you will also need to walk and exercise him every day. One usefull hint obedience exercising takes as much energy as going for a walk, so on the days you can't walk him have him train with you for 5 to 10 mins.
