Question
I have a 3 month old husky. My boyfriend and I have decided to get another husky because she seemed lonely.  We picked up a male husky from a house and rescue shelter and was told he was between 7-9 mo old.  Well I am a little worried because when they play outside they really pay rough.  He nibble's at her and they wrestle on the grown and then she will bark as if she is hurt.  However, she is the one going after him.  Are they just playing or will he turn on her.  I'm afraid that he's going to bite her, and have her draw blood. His mouth can fit around her neck and he can bit her ribs from atop... Please let me know what I can do.  As soon as we walk away they are at eachothers throat?  Thank you in advance

Answer
Right now they are playing, playing rough but playing. If you interrupt them at this age (they are also trying to establish pack order) they might get into fights later. I will say if they sound like they are killing each other stop them, you will hear high pitched screaming when that happens. I usually do not suggest getting another pup till the one you have reaches the age of 6 months. They aren't so fragile then and also you should of impressed that you are the alpha and that should give you less problems with fighting dogs. Have you done any obedience training with them? They learn the best when they are young. I would suggest teaching them sit and such it will help you gain more control over them later in life. Don't be afraid to grab the dog who is on top of the other by the scrff of the neck and give them 1 shake, that is what the momma dog would do if she isn't hapy with how they are playing. They understand that better then screaming at them. -Michelle B ^^
