Question
Our Husky girl keeps running through our invisible fence. She'll got through the pain. She's 8 months. I shaved her neck where the collar hits, but it didn't help. We have over 2 acres for her, but she still goes. I walk her 2 miles every morning too. She's gotten into a fight with a porcupine that cost $300 at the vet. What more can I do?

Should I shave her fur for Summer? She seems so hot. Thanks...

Answer
Invisable fencing is highly ineffective for huskies because their runing instenct is to strong when they can see the wide open spaces are there. Re-doing the boundry training can help, but once they have the fence figured out it is all over. Get a kennel to put her in or fence in your yard. You can also get a tie out for her.

Never shave a husky. It helps her maintain ther body temp in heat and in cold. Plus if you remove the fur the sun can cause irriversable damage to her skin and because they lack pigent in their skin they can easly get skin cancer. Also their fur will never grow back all the way. It might come close to being normal but it will take a year and a half.
