Question
i have a 6 month old male husky.  hes pretty big already and has a nice coat of fur... now a person i met wants to give me her dog . it is a malamute , husky mix . she is 9 months old . but she is smaller then my dog and has a much thinner coat of fur and is skinny. is this normal in the malamute husky mix . are male huskies normaly bigger then females.  and why is her coat so much thinner at 9 months compared to my 6 month male ... i have the dog for the nite , to see how see does with my children ... i am trying to find out if she is under nurished or is this just normal... so if you can please get back to me as soon as you can i would greatly appriciate it. i am unsure if i am gonna keep it.. ty

Answer
Yes male Siberians are bigger then Females. Is she blowing  her coat right now. If she is Mixed with sledding Siberian lines they have very short coats. It is normal for Huskies to be thin (exspecally from sledding lines) Huskies do not normaly totaly mature till they are 4 years old, that is when they are totly filled out. Sounds like she is apperas more Sled line husky then Malamute.
