malamute husky.

Question
Yesterday someone asked me if I'd like to breed my mix malamute with his husky. The thing is, like I said before, my dog isn't pure. He has the looks of a malamute but he isn't. Any ideas what the puppies would be like? could he possibly pass on his mother's genes? And come out with German Shepard looking puppies? Or will they remain Husky mixes. The female that is to be bred is a pure bred; and mine is a mix. Apparently his father was also a husky, but I
d like to know the possibilities of his puppies.
Hopefully the females genes will be more dominant than his.

Also, how old can I breed him at? Right now he's four months old.

Answer
Hi Courtney,

With your puppy being a mixed husky, it will pass his mothers German Shepard Gene.  You more then likely get a couple of puppies that looks just like yours.  And you will also get puppies that look just like huskies.  You can technically start studding the male at 6 months, but recommended to wait until 1 1/2.

I hope this helps.  If you have anymore questions, please ask.

Thank You,
Laura
