Normal weight?

Question
I was wondering what is the normal weight for a 4 month old male purebred Siberian husky? Is there a weight chart for when he is fully mature that I could go by because I am concerned for his weight. Thanks!

Answer
Dear Jeanenne,
Huskies are one of those breeds where a wide variation in their features is a normal accepted standard. I have seen both very tiny and really huge examples of this breed. My guys are huge 23 inches at the shoulder or a bit above. They weigh in at 60 plus pounds. I can remember at 8 weeks they were already a hefty 10 lbs. I knew one guy who had a female husky who was barely 30 lbs yet she was very healthy, and pulled a sled like you would not believe. So there is no real normal weight really, if your dog looks thin then he probably is so increase his food intake.
I hope this helps,
Faye and husky Crew.
