Exercising my Husky

Question
I have a 9 month old husky and we have been hooking her up to our bike with a Walky Dog.  How far is too far to run her?  She pulls to the side and acts like she doesn't want to run.  We are up to 6 miles when the weather is cool, but I do not want to overdo it.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Answer
Each dog is different and the weather will have a lot to do with it too.  You'll really have to just keep an eye on how she is acting, but keep in mind, these dogs can be conditioned to be serious endurance athletes covering 100 miles a day!  (Iditarod runs at this level).  Most casual pets of course don't have the breeding stock and training background to do that, but they can get up there in miles.  My general advice is always stop before the dog wants to stop, and generally, you won't be overdoing it.  Also, keep an eye out for injuries (especially on the paws) and make sure plenty of water is available.  As for "acting like she doesn't want to run" - what is she doing?  A lot of dogs take some time to adjust to running with a bike, but I have yet to see a Husky that doesn't want to run :)
