i have a 5 month old male sibe and lately his teeth have been bleeding is this normal or should i bring him to the vet thank you

Hi Peter,

It is normal when they start losing their baby teeth.  If he has lost all his baby teeth already, then it could be a serious problem.  There can be plaque build up on the teeth around the gums which makes the gums bleed.  I  really don't think your puppy has this problem.  If he has been chewing on tough toys or even a raw hide that can also cause bleeding in the mouth for a short period of time, which is normal.

It is important to have your puppies teeth checked at every vet visit to ensure there are no problems with his teeth.  If he notice any trouble with eating or soreness in the mouth, then I would recommend seeing your veterinarian right away.
