Huskies in general

Question
My daughter brought home a stray puppy from work and it looks to be a siberian husky.  Unfortunately, I know nothing about dogs in general especially huskies.  I've never even had one before.  It doesn't have all its teeth so I believe it to be a young pup.  We have a 10x12 dog cage outside for it and a plastic type house that we put a pillow in for him to sleep on.  He whines alot as soon as you leave him.  We thought it might be because he was left and feels abandoned.  My daughter stayed outside with him all day the first day we brought him home because she thought he might be scared.  We first fed him a cheap brand of dogfood but he used the bathroom so much I thought maybe the food didn't agree with him so I am going to start him on Purina puppy chow.  Have any advice regarding care for him?

Answer
This is probably someones dog. Siberians are ecape artests and this little guy probably got out of his fenced in yard. .  . or even worse someone though a Husky would stay put in a yard, or trusted an invisable fence to keep the pully in. By the teeth coming out he is probably 4 to 5 months old. I would ask around to see if anyone is missing a Siberian. Someone could be missing there beloved pet and sick with worry. I have been in the position that I lost a dog and somone thought she was a stray it was only by chance I found her a day or 2 later. But I lost a lot of sleep looking for that baby of mine. Aso since Huskys are ecape artists they can chew collars off and un hook chains (I have seen it done it is pretty amazing!) They can also open gates and doors if they put their minds to it. I had one lock me out of the house! I would go a higher grade food then Puppy chow, anything you can buy at wal-mart isn't good quality.
Siberians have in general a sensitive stomach. Try a food like Evo, Canidaie, Taste of the Wild, Merrics, Blu Buffalo, Wolf King, I would settle for Californa Naturals. You want to avoid food using Corn, Wheat, beet juice, soy (in any form), salt. These are not gentle on the stomach because they cannot be digested fully by the dog, they aren't vegitarians by any means.
Siberians are scocal animals they have a larger "vocabulary" then most any other breed, this also makes them very smart. Without companionship they get very bored also without it they feel uneasy and lost. This is why most Siberians escape they want to find something to do and someone to talk to. They can get used to being alone if you set scheduled play times that you never miss and give him toys like a Kong he can play with to keep him busy so he doesn't think about being alone.
