husky who barks

Question
I have a one year old husky.  we walk him socialize with him and play with him frequently.  yet, he likes to vocalize alot when he feels people aren't paying enough attention to him.  This isnt really a problem during the day if he is feeling frisky or playful.  It becomes a little disconcerting when he barks at two or five in the morning when i'm trying to sleep.  I love him, but he seems to be a little mischevious when it comes to his barking.  Is there a way to train him out of doing this so frequently and so late at night?

Answer
Dear Ashley,
This behaviour you describe is pretty normal husky behaviour, I had one that did the same thing she was always wanting attention. The only way she stopped this was when I got a second dog. These guys are such pack oriented dogs they crave another dog around. The best way to stop this is have him sleep with you at night, or get a second dog. Other wise he will probably always do this. Hope this helps.
