Question
I am getting a husky mix border collie within the next few
weeks. I need to know - i am staying in a nature reserve,
with big 5 animals and lots of predators. The surroundings
are not fenced and theres over 78000 hectares of roaming
space. Is this going to be a problem?? As huskies & collies
are both animals who run a lot and prey on smaller animals?
? What do u think??

Answer
Any time you get mixed breeds, you can be up in the air based on what the purebred would normally do.  If this were a purebred Siberian, I would think that the this environment, while a lot of fun for the dog, would be a definite problem if you are planning on letting the dog run free.  Chances are, the dog will want to run around and explore the environment quite a bit, and if the nature preserve has predatory animals, the dog definitely could become involved in that (either as a predator or prey).  I definitely would not recommend this environment is the dog is allowed to run free.  Controlled leash walks and a secured played area would be fine.
