Two Huskies

Question
Hi,
We have a three year old husky and are considering adding another one.  We feel he would enjoy the company but our concern is that his bad habit of escaping at any chance will be doubled with another Husky.   Is this true or would a "brother" be good for him?

Answer
Well, you never can tell how two dogs will react, but oftentimes the escape artists in Sibes come out when they are bored.  Having another dog around to play with might help eliminate some of that boredom, although it might also give another set of paws to help dig . . .   Generally though, you will see a reduction in some of those activities with a second dog.

One other point, I would recommend getting a female if you currently have a male and are planning on getting another dog.  Opposite sex pairings are often much easier to manage and they often get along better.
