alpha male

Question
I have a 5 month old husky and when we go outside the house i have trouble with him following orders.  I also think that he has not established me as the alpha male. what can i do

Well, this can be a myriad of problems and has almost an equal number of solutions.  First, one thing to realize is you do have a husky, and a five month old one at that.  You are not going to have the epitome of obedience from a husky, and definitely not a young one at that.  Huskies often have a high prey drive and their high intelligence often means they "think" they know better than you do.  To correct that takes time, patience, and a lot of training.  So, the next question is - what kind of training have you done with your dog thus far?  (Treat-based/clicker, German, etc.)  The next question is - what are you saying that's indicating a problem with you in the leadership role?
