Itching/Smell

Question
I have had several huskies with their fair share of issues...allergies, skin problems, etc. This breed typically does not have any odor. However my 2 year old male has had an odor and is itching quiet a bit. I don't think it's food allergies, he is on a very good food, it's not fleas and my 1st husky had severe allergies to pollen/grasses, but his symptoms were sinus and cough related. The male I have know (female is seeming to follow in this issue now to) has a really strong smell and is itching. He is not loosing patches of hair or has flaky skin. Skin is a bit pink and somewhat warm to the touch. They both run trails (brush) and swim in a local lake every morning. Thinking maybe yeast of some type???

Answer
Since you swim at a lake it could also be chiggers or some other type of bug. Fleas are a big problem at this time of year (I know you said this wasn't it). It would be probably be best to have your vet take a look. I could also be yeast, but this usually makes the skin turn orange-ish. A vet can preform a skin scrape to be sure it isn't mange, though you said the hair isn't falling out. Sorry my strong point is animal behavior. Please see your vet their is so many possibilities.
