shaving

Question
I had my husky shaved yesterday. A neighbor of mine use to have them and shaved hers. I was reading today and it said to never shave them. Is there any precautions I need to take now that I have already done it? We live in Texas and it is very hot. Wish I would have looked into it more before I did it.

Talk to your vet about dog friendly sunscreen to help protect the dog's skin.  Otherwise, keep the dog indoors as much as possible, and provide plenty of shade and fresh, cool water.  I would suggest walks during the day to be only to go the bathroom, and that any exercise be done in the early morning or late evening (preferably after dark or close to dusk/dawn).
