Question
QUESTION: I have a 7mo old husky. We keep him outside most of the day and I have noticed no matter how much attention he has been given or even when it's his feeding time, he will always eat his feces more than once a day. He will prefer his feces over food. We do pick up his feces everyday, but can't seem to be on top of it fast enough. What do we do to have him stop eating his feces?

ANSWER: Sometimes eating fecies is cause by malnutrition, or poor nutrition in the food. Try adding something to their diet. Some Vitimins, real meat. Something diffrent. You can also go to a pet store and buy Coprophagia Deterrent. It is a pill fed to your dog and makes their stool taste bad. This might stop him from eating.

QUESTION: I heard that some husky owners start giving adult dog food to their husky sometime between 8-10mo, because of the nutrition and lack of interest of their puppy food. Is this something I should consider when he turns 8mo?

Answer
Rule of thumb for foods, if the brand makes a puppy food it isn't a good brand to feed your dog. Puppy food has to much Calcium and calories. To much Calcium cause problems with the ligaments (people who show do not feed puppy food because it causes there pasterns to go flat their ankles will literally lay on the ground in real bad cases) I suggest never to feed puppy food. Switch to the adult, passably find a better quality food. Canidae is my Favorite food, isn't as exspensive as most.
