Question
are there any digestive problems specific to the husky breed? i have a husky that is having some digestive issues. i did find out that this time she is sick with a bacterial infection. however she does have days where she will have diarrhea just that day or maybe twice that day etc. i brought this up to my vet and he said that he has two huskies and they do the same thing. so i was just wondering if these was something that was breed specific?

Answer
Actually, it is not uncommon in Sibes to have some loose stool problems.  Depending on the breeding, I've seen this issue fixed with an increase of fat and protein in the diet (usually in the form of some raw ground beef.  Not much - about 1 tbsp).  Loose stools can be caused by several factors, but common is over-feeding or too many indigestible materials in the food (or, of course, digestive infection).  If you've eliminated infection/parasites, I would try the meat route.  After that, reducing the amount fed and making sure the food is not filled with indigestible grains is often usually very helpful.  Let me know how that works or if you have some more specific questions.
