Male Siberian Huskies Fur/Weight

Question
Hi Laura,
I have a 6.5month old male Sib. When he was 3.5months old he had to go for emergency sugery on his knee, they shaved his whole leg and I was just wondering, the white has all grown back in but the gray (he is gray and white) has not grown back in yet. There is a couple strands but nothing noticable. I read in one of your other postings that the fur will not grow back the same, I was just wondering if you think it will always be white or if gray will eventually grow in?

Also, in some of your other postings you said that by 6 months they weight about half of their weight that they will be when they full grown, my sib weights 45 pounds, but looks healthy not fat at all.. does this mean he will be about 90 or so pounds when he is finished? He is a purebreed and he doesn't eat that much so I was just wondering what your thoughts on this was. When we got him he was the largest out of the litter at 12.5 pounds at 8 weeks.

Answer
Hi Corie,

The gray hair will probably not grow back.  If it does then it won't look the same.  When hair gets shaved in any animals or humans it doesn't grow in the same after surgeries.

He could be a big huskies.  The average weight is about 60 pounds, but that is just an average.  So he could weight more when he is fall grown.  With being the largest in his liter it is a possibility.

If you have anymore questions, please ask.

Thanks,
Laura
