Question
Hello I have a 9 week old husky, named Echo, she seems to have a slight problem of anxiety about being alone, though I have only had her for three weeks.
I took her to the vet and I don't want to medicate her so they suggest we get another dog to keep her company.
I didn't particulaly want two dogs, is it possible for her to be happy and healthy alone?
She is very intellegent, toilet trained and sits already! Should I consider a friend or wait out the adjusting period?

Answer
Kira,

Sibes love companionship and company - human or canine.  If you can't offer that as consistently as the dog wants/needs, a second dog is a good option.  However, the pup is young and I would say there's no harm in waiting a few months to see how things go.  Honestly, I got my second after about 4 months with my first - and two is usually easier than just one since they can play and interact with each other!  But, I understand a hesitation in taking on additional responsibility.  Exercise, play and interact with your pup as much as possible (a tired husky is a good husky!) and give it a couple of months to see how things go.
