Eating Other Dogs Poop

Question
Hi I have an 8 month old male husky/shepherd mix who will eat other dogs and or goose poop if he can. He doesn't go near his own (Thank the Heavens Above!!!) Is this somewhat normal or could there be something lacking in his diet (not sure what poop would make a good substitute for) or could this be harmful to his health? Thanks for any information you can provide.

Answer
Yes that could be one of the reasons. (Goose droppings are just delicious to a dog... No other reason for that) Try switching dog foods. Add a supplement. Do you own the other dogs that he is eating the poop of (what kind of food are the other dogs feed if they aren't yours)? The condition you are talking about is called Coprophagia, it is a medical condition. Caused by Malnutrition, unclean environment, or just boredom. Most of the time it is just because they lack some nutrient.
