Question
We just brought home our second new husky pup.  Our first pup we've had for one month and he is about 14 wks.  Our new one is almost 8 wks old.
I had our new pup sleep with us, once she slept in the bed for a nap and the other time was at nite both times she had an accident.   And according to the breeders she is supposed to be mat trained which I have not seen yet.  How do I get her to not go on our bed again?

Answer
Puppies should never be allowed in the bed with the owners.  There is a sensory overload of smells, mixed feelings about owner dominance/control, etc.  Most dogs will have accidents in this case.  I suggest crate training as opposed to mat training, although the two may be combined.  If you have questions about crate training, let me know.

Only after extensive training (year or more) should a dog be allowed in bed.  Its a tough thing to do, but it makes life for you and the dog so much better.
