Stimutation collar for Siberian Husky

Question
Is there a stimulation collar that works for a Siberian Husky, and will it work in heavy undergrowth? My Husky is very sensitive, but I have to keep her on leash all of the time, and this is hard to give her enough excersise. I have the time and the will to train her carefully to the collar.....Many thanks...Susanna

Answer
I have only heard of limited success with stim collars for Siberians.  The Sibe drive is often higher than the battery power of the collar, and that's only if the collar actually works!  The collar often seems to cause nerve damage or soresa if it is tight enough for the electrodes to make skin contact.  I think the best method is to look for alternative mean sof exercise.  Here are my suggestions:

1)  Engage in obedience training.  And not treat-based.  Find something challenging mentally for the dog.  Even basic agility work can wear the dog out because it works their mind as well as their bodies.

2) Running with the dog.  If that's not an option - bike rides with a device like the Springer (springerusa.com I think) work great.  I have one and the pups are exhausted afterwards.

3) Of course, long walks are also great.

Good luck - and hope that helps!
