Patches of hair loss

Question
My recently adopted 3 year Siberian husky has 2 patches on the upper part of her back legs that are losing hair and have a lot of dandruff. The 2 spots seem to be in the same place on both sides but are limited to those 2 areas as of now. Any ideas on what might be causing this? It doesn't seem like normal shedding.

Answer
Is it on her elbo? I know that they get bald spots that callus up when they lay around to long on hard surfaces. Another thing could be food allergies. Is their grains in her food (wheat, corn) dogs aren't ment to eat large amounts of this and allergies to them are quite common. Some dogs cannot eat any of this.
Thyroid is also something that causes baldness. If they have his you need to have it dignosed by a vet using a blood draw. If this is the case she will be put on a cheep pill 2 times a day for the rest of her life.
Mange is something that causes hair loss, but it normally starts on the legs, head and neck. But it isn't quite likely. I would start weeding possablilties out then look to the mange. It is detemaned by having your vet do a skin scraping. This is to look for the mite. This is taken care of using Ivemec tht the vet gives you it is 1 dose a day everyday for 3-4 months. If she isn't tolarant to this there is other treatments like, amatrax, intercepter, sulfer lime dip ect.

Any other questions please ask.
