QuestionHello,
I have a husky (Maya) & a husky/malimute mix (Kira). They are both females, about 18mo - 2 yrs old & the same height. Both were rescues so I'm not positive Maya is purebred or that Kira is mixed with malimute, but that is what everybody who sees them thinks.
Maya is about 5 lbs lighter than Kira even though she is less active and eats more. Maya has been getting 3 cups of food and Kira gets only 2 cups - 50% more for Maya! I know Kira is not eating Maya's food.
Is it normal to have this much of a weight difference?
AnswerSibes are supposed to be thinner and lighter than Mals, although often times heigh is not much difference. The standard calls for Sibes to be 35-50 lbs, and Mals 75 lbs for females. While you don't mention specific weights, it sounds normal from here.
