Husky and New Baby

Question
Hi,

I emailed you before about our Husky and our new baby and our husky acting 'Weird' around our new baby.  Well my wife as totally shut down the thought of our husky coming back in the house, so I have built our 7 year old Husky a LARGE air conditioned dog house.  My question is this... I have having a hard time getting her to go in the dog house.  I have put her food and water in there and she will go in to eat and drink, but she comes right back out.  We have been having 100 temp days in the panhandle of Texas and it is a dry heat, but I can't get her to go in there to cool off.  I work most of the day, so I can't say that she doesn't go in there at all, but everytime I am there at lunch, etc... she is either on the shaded back porch or laying in the sun...  Do you have any advice on how to get her in the dog house more often especially during the heat of the day?  I have a tempature gauge in the dog house and it is consistently 65 degrees or cooler in the dog house, just can't figure out why she wouldn't go in more often...

Thanks for any advice.

Answer
Some dogs just don't feel comfortable in a dog house and will just not take to it.  Making it as comfortable as possible is a plus, but Sibes can be picky about such things.  If the dog has access to cool water and shade, that's about the best you can do.  Also, if the dog house is too large, she may not feel comfortable in such a large space.  Dog's often are more comfortable out in the open then, so you may want to try to make it more den like.
