Husky pups/running

Question
Hello-  I enjoyed reading your answers regarding huskies and running.  I have two huskies-  one I've had for almost 3 years and she has been training marathons with me for almost 2 years.  I also have a 4.5 month old husky pup.  I started running her at 2.5 months with a 1/2 mile and have been increasing every week (mostly based on time). She is up to almost 5 miles off leash (so who knows how much she is really running)  Anyway-  she seems to be fine and not lagging behind towards the end- although she does sleep well the rest of the afternoon.  I hope I didn't start her too young though.  Just curious as to your thoughts?  Thanks-

Answer
Congrats!  (I just finished the Chicago Marathon, which explains why I haven't been responding to these emails as quick as normal!).  Anyway, I think you are fine . . . my guess is that you may have started her a little young for the mileage your ramping up to, but if she is enjoying it and not lagging behind, than you are probably doing completely fine.  And no worries with the dog sleeping well afterwards, they definitely should!

Keep running and maybe I'll see you out there for 26.2 sometime.  (3 down for me . . . 47 more to go . . . )
